Ogilvie Homes
Ogilvie have once again submitted a planning application for the land strip of land in between King’s Drive and Queens Drive Westerwood. This time for 9 houses.
The Community Council will be objecting to this on the following grounds:
the already significant amount of house building and development in this area;
further removal of greenspace;
the detrimental impact on the amenity of the local area;
the development will be contrary to the proposed zoning of this area as part of the Urban Green Network in the forthcoming North Lanarkshire Development Plan;
the fact that two applications for this site have already been rejected;
the pressure of further development on existing local services (roads, schools etc);
access issues to local roads;
Ogilivie's management of the site including removal of trees in advance of this application.
This planning application can be viewed at the following link and public comments can be registered up until the 14th August either via NLC’s planning website or by email on esplanning@northlan.gov.uk.
It is important that as many local residents as possible register any concerns directly with NLC planning as this will have a bearing on the overall decision.
