DCC - JANUARY UPDATE

Here is an update of some things that have been happening from your Dullatur Community Council.

We hope you are all managing to keep safe in the latest lockdown. If you need any support from the Community Council please do get in touch.

DCC Meetings The Community Council has been meeting in a virtual basis to comply with lockdown restrictions. We post minutes on the new noticeboard and latest minutes can be found on the North Lanarkshire website at https://mars.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/.../public/kab71.pl...

Following our 2020 AGM the office bearers are: John Wright (Chair) Vivien Mitchell (Secretary) Clare Ross (Treasurer) Alan Davidson (Ordinary Member) Margaret Kennedy (Ordinary Member)

Village Hall Unfortunately during the recent cold weather spell one of the mains water pipes loosened and came free which caused flooding and quite substantial damage to the hall. Our Insurance company are in the process of dealing with it and we hope to have your Village Hall fully operational soon with some additional improvements that will ensure we are well placed to welcome the community back to the hall when COVID restrictions allow. If there is an architect living in the village we would like to hear from you - we have some questions concerning building regulations for planning and some future modifications within the hall.

Planning There are two planning items that may be of interest:

Woodend, Prospect Road - residents may have seen the recent building activity on this “A listed” building. The relevant application is partly in retrospect and can be viewed and commented on here - https://eplanning.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/.../application...

Short Term Let Change of Use Enforcement Notice, The Lane An enforcement notice has been raised by North Lanarkshire Council against the use of a property on The Lane as a short term holiday let. The matter has been referred to the Scottish Government Reporter who makes an unbiased opinion and judgement. This is the subject of appeal by the owners. If you wish to comment on the matter The Reporter will take the comments into consideration when making her judgement. You can send your comments to this email email. DPEA@gov.scot quoting reference ENA-320-2022. You can also view the appeal paperwork by clicking this link http://www.dpea.scotland.gov.uk/CaseDetails.aspx?ID=121350

Village Matters You may have seen that the section of the core path 75 has been completed following works by the landowner Stewart Milne.

The grit bins have all been topped up so with the weather looking as though the is snow on the way during all of this week don’t forget to spread a bit of grit over the speed bumps before the snow gets compacted. We're aware that residents in Victoria Terrace are in touch with NLC regarding the reinstatement of grit bins that were removed from the station yard.

TPO - Tree Preservation Order The planning committee at NLC is meeting this Thursday (28/01/2021) to decide on the TPO at Queens Drive to finalise and “Confirm” the TPO. 104 constituents supported the TPO with zero against so it is unlikely it will not be confirmed following the notice being given late 2020. If anyone would like information on if the trees near you or in your garden are within the TPO then we’ll happily help with advise as to what you can and can’t do.

If you’re looking to get outdoors and active then why not have a think about getting yourself and family involved in Dullatur Lawn Tennis Club for the upcoming 2021 season. It’s a great way of getting fit and supporting your local village club. The club can be contacted here and will shortly be coming out with their plans for the coming season, including Tennis coaching for children and adult, (restrictions permitting). Watch this space! All are welcome - see https://www.dullatur.org/tennis-club for further details).

If anyone has any concerns or needs some support during this time please drop us an email at info@dullatur.org.
